Summer 2009 Opportunities at Studio 68

Registration for our summer programs begins April 25. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your space, with the balance due on or before the first day of each program.

Section 1: Ages 2-5
We are happy to offer a variety of programs for our youngest dancers during the summer months.

Pretty Princess Camp is a dream come true for girls ages 3-5. Dance, dress up, and play with a different princess each day! No previous dance experience is needed. Pretty Princess Camp will be held June 15-18 from 10-11:30am. Cost is $70 per student, which includes daily crafts and snacks.

Baby Ballet is offered for our tiniest ballerinas. The class meets on Tuesdays from 10-10:30am, and will include creative movement, an introduction to basic ballet terminology, and lots of high-energy FUN! Baby Ballet is divided into 2 sessions at a cost of $30 per session. Our little ballerinas are welcome to attend both.

Session 1: May 26, June 2, and June 9

Session 2: July 14, July 21, and July 28

Kidz Bop will have your young dancers moving all summer! Designed as an introduction to jazz and acrobatics for students ages 4-5, this program will also reinforce the ballet terminology and lessons that your dancer may already know. The class will meet on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:15am. Kidz Bop! is divided into 2 sessions at a cost of $30 per session. No experience is necessary, and dancers are welcome to attend both sessions.

Session 1: May 26, June 2, and June 9

Session 2: July 14, July 21, and July 28

Section 2: Ages 6-12
For our growing dancers, we offer a variety of summer dance programs to satisfy multiple levels.

Spa-ti-da Camp is a week of all things GIRL - manicures, pedicures, make-overs, facials, and DANCING! No previous dance experience is needed. Spa-ti-da Camp will be held June 15-18 from 10-12noon. Cost is $80 per student, which includes daily spa-related activities snacks.

Dance Intensive Week is open to experienced dancers age 6 and up and was designed with two goals in mind. At the advanced level, the program will reinforce the technique and skills required to consistently improve as a performer. For others, Dance Intensive Week serves as an introduction to more focused dance training, and specifically to the skill sets that we expect from our Company students. Focus areas include: flexibility, turns, leaps, learning quickly, performance quality, and ballet technique. This program meets Monday, June 1-Thursday, June 4 from 4:00-6:30pm at a cost of $100 per student. Optional "mock" auditions may be held Friday, June 5 (minimum of 10 dancers required for mock auditions).

Our Master Class Series offers dancers the ability to dance as much (or as little) as their schedules allow during the summer at an affordable rate. Pay the "drop-in" rate of $10 per class (cash only), OR purchase a card good for 10 classes for $85. The best value option is an unlimited package for the entire summer at $300 (this is a $510 value!). This is a great way for growing dancers to see marked improvement over the summer break. The basic schedule stays the same (see below), but the focus of each class will change to keep things interesting. Check the Upcoming Events section for regular updates.

Section 3: Advanced Dancers
The opportunities for improvement this summer are UNLIMITED!

Dance Intensive Week

Company Camp is an intense week of technique classes and choreography required for students wishing to audition for our competitive groups. Students will be divided into three age groups for classes in ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical. Classes are Monday, June 22-Thursday, June 25, with auditions Thursday evening and Friday morning.
